Wow! Amazing recipe. And so simple! I tweaked it a tad. I used yellow squash and zucchini instead of pattypan. I used red onion instead of leeks and I used goat cheese instead of feta (just what I had on hand). After I sautéed veggies, I sautéed some pine nuts. I added them last to the dish. Magnifico!

Hubby said this one's a keeper! Used zucchini for the squash.

I had to use the substitutes that CL suggested, listed above (squash, zucchini, and yellow onion) because my grocery store and farmers market simply didn't have what is listed. We still loved this side dish. Next time I make it I will try to find the Served it with CL's Grouper with Pistou and a side salad.

We did not like this recipe, although I made so many changes that it's not really fair to rate it. I used yellow squash (cut in baby squash sized pieces) and a sweet onion. The basil looked good but overwhelmed with its flavor. And I think it would have helped to thinly slice the squash as suggested.

I also substituted goat for feta (I had it on hand) and a red onion for leeks (again, it's what I had on hand). BIG HIT!!!! love this and so easy will definitely make again and again. Fresh basil on top really brought the dish together I thought, but then I love fresh basil. I used regular zucchini, I think the key is that whatever type of squash you use, get it just tender enough but not too soft. Since squash tends to cool off quickly, I left it in the pan, sprinkled the cheese on top and covered briefly to give the cheese a chance to melt into the veggies. Then transferred to a bowl and sprinkled with basil.

Delicious. I used zucchini instead since I couldn't get squash and it was perfect. Didn't use low fat feta either.

We made this last night, and it was the best part of the whole meal. I had fresh pattypan on hand, but no leeks. I used a sweet onion, halved lengthwise then crosswise, then sliced 1/4 thick (into half halfmoons, of a sort!), and goat cheese. It was so good, I ate more of this than the chicken I cooked as the main dish! Would definitely do again.

This is delicious (even without the basil) and fresh and very quick to make. Will definitely make again.

I thought this recipe was good, but I think I might try another squash recipe before making this one again. I followed the recipe exactly except I used yellow squash instead of baby squash. I will probably make this again, but I would use sweet onions or shallots instead of leeks and add more salt and pepper. The other review is right...the feta makes the dish.

I thought this was a good way to use up squash! I used yellow baby squash and some zucchini, and replaced the leeks with onions. I also replaced the feta cheese with goat cheese, and added a little garlic powder. Yummy, I thought! It would be good to serve to guests--elegant enough, but really fast to make!

This turned out great!! I can usually only find the pattypan squash at a farmer's market near where I live. Onion could probably be substituted for the leek. Good enough to be the meal and not just a side dish!! I will for sure be making this again soon!!

I finally got my husband to eat squash - this was absolutely delicious. We used yellow summer squash instead of pattypan, but followed the rest of the recipe as instructed. Like others have said, the feta really makes this dish - be sure to use a good quality feta in brine, it makes all the difference (I don't use reduced-fat cheese). The fresh basil was also a great flavor. We'll be making it again with various kinds of squashes.

Great new veggie recipe; good enough for company. We used baby zucchini and normal squash.

I used zucchini and crook-neck and it came out fabulous. Even my ultra-picky b-in-law loved it. A keeper.
